What to send when asking for an SBEM quote
A useful model begins with a brief that says what is known and what is still changing.
Define the output first
Tell us whether the calculation is for a design-stage review, as-built submission, non-domestic EPC or a combination. The jurisdiction and building-control route matter. Approved Document L is a starting point for England.
Send current drawings
Plans, sections and elevations help define the geometry, zones and use. Mark drafts clearly. The approximate floor area and any mixed-use spaces are valuable even when drawings are incomplete.
Describe the energy systems
Fabric, glazing, heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water, lighting and controls influence the model. Separate specified products from provisional assumptions.
